有所思 - 毛泽东
Some Thoughts - Mao Zedong
Just as critical events are unfolding in the capital, I come to the Southlands to enjoy her fragrant flowers.
Verdant pines bursting open towards the spring sky, defeated leaves atop the jade waters slip by.
A burst of wind and lightning startles the world, the streets are filled with red and green flags waving.
Leaning against a fence I listen attentively to light rain pattering, thoughts of my country’s people occupy me.
