山林吾喪我
冠帶爾成人
莫學嵇康懶
且安原憲貧
山陰多北戶
泉水在東鄰
緣合妄相有
性空無所親
安知廣成子
不是老夫身

In mountain woods I forget self-consciousness,
with official insignia you’ve become useful men.
Don’t take lazy Jikang as an example,
be comfortable with poverty like Yuanxian.
Huts face north in the shadow of the mountain,
and just to the east there’s a flowing spring.
All that we see is void and cannot be valued,
though an original cause underlies everything.
Can we be certain that the immortal Guang Chengzi,
and this old man are not one in the same?
